My cousin is a vegetarian. She is 13 years old and has beautifully clear skin, though she claims she rarely even washes her face! My sisters and I on the other hand continually struggle with spots, no matter what facial creams we use and how often we wash our faces. We are aged 13, 15, and 17 and are omnivorous. Could my cousins lovely skin be due to her vegetarian ways?

Diet has a part to it but not necessary being a vegan. Try cutting down on greasy deep fried food and eat more fish, fruits & veggie which contain Vit-D that is essential for good skin. Also drink plenty of fluid, it was recomended that we drink at least 2 litres of water a day not including tea, soda of that sort. This will also clear up any constipation that can effect blemish. Also plenty of sleep and a good facial routine. just because you have oily face doesn't mean you can skip moituriser, your skin is still thirsty. Use oil-free products. If all else fails it's just due to excess hormone that is typical of teenage years and you'll just have to wait it out.

Everyone comments on my skin and ask me, what do i use or do?
Well i'm not vegan!
Remember that, teens tend to get lots of spots bcoz your body is going through puberty!
Drink plenty of water that will defenitly help, is as simple as that!
Also try this "SBC" skin care range, they have great products that really work! On all problamatic skins
Hope it helps
Good luck

Well, you do find omnivores with great skin and you find vegetarians with spots.

Just eat healthily with 5 portions of veg and fruit every day

probably not - she has inherited it - you could of course give it a try but it wont happen overnight - ask her what she eats etc - your spots will go in time - you may have a different kind of skin to hers as well - try to find out if your skin is dry/greasy etc - dont overclog your skin with creams etc and dont use soap. take care

No, because your body needs oils. Try eating more fish, but if you don't like fish try cod liver oil tablets. And spots usually follow down the family tree. Eg: If your mother had spots then it is 94.47% probability that you will have spots.
