Why do you think these 3 religions have traditionally fought amongst themselves so much? Some conflict is logical, since they differ as to traditions of worship etc, but they're all worshiping the same God! Why have they seemed to focus on the differences, rather than the similarities? It almost seems they haven't wanted cooperation and peace.

Sibling rivalry. Children always have to compete for their parents' attention.

Much of christianity belives in a very different concept of God than Judaism(and arguably islam) while they theoretically do share the same God. ... christians have some extremely different views on some of the most important details.

Judaism does not claim to be the only true way. it is a way.

much of Christianity especially, and much of islam, belive themselves to be the only true way. and this definitionally prevents cooperation with others, because by saying "we're right and everyone else is wrong" you are not respecting the other groups, and without respect, how can you expect to get anywhere?

and for the perspective that Judaism claims the "chosen" thing... that does NOT actually imply superiority or only-correct-ness. it only means that this group was chosen to hold a role that is special and different. not always a good thing. and not better or anything like that.

The god of Islam and the God of Christianity are not the same. Allah is a monad, while the God of the Bible is three and one. The trinitarian formula is the fountain of personality. Since we are made in the image of God, people have personality, too. Have you ever noticed that practicing muslims supress personality? Jews, on the other hand, are an interesting bunch. By the rejection of John the Baptizer they demonstrated that they don't believe their own Scriptures, and as a natural consequence rejected the Messiah. Since they reject the teachings of Scripture, they logically must worship some other god as well. I would love to chat with a Jew to find out exactly what they think, but am confident that the Hebrew Bible expects none other than Jesus, which they flatly deny.

They do not worship "the same god." Allah has different teachings, as described by Mohammed, than Jesus. Jesus is part of a divine trinity of Father Son and Holy Ghost. This is a very different god than Yahweh in the Jewish religion.

Your position is common among revisionists, but is false.

We don't.

And xtians have an entirely different god. Notice the little fundamentalist below saying fundamental xtians and Jews are 'allies'... Ever notice you will never hear a Jew say the same thing? Never. Why? Because we are not. They have a paganized human demi god who happened to have been born a Jew, but we do NOT worship the same gd. *Not*at*all*.
We don't have a half human trio of demigods.
BIG difference there, no?

I have noticed when it comes to theology the closer two groups are the more conflict their is.

Muslims have killed the most Muslims in history, the same is true of Christians.

Jews might be less violent towards one another, but trust me the anamostiy as been there over the centuries.

It is simply a sad fact of life.

Today, Jews consider fundamentalist Christians to be allies, and most protestants consider Jews to be the People of God or the Chosen People.

(Ironically, Christians are more anxious for the temple to be rebuilt than Jews are. A rabbi once told me, "Yuk! Why would we want to slaughter animals and spill blood on a rock?")

Christians and Jews share the same God. But the god of Islam is not the Lord God of Israel. Allah is a pagan god. Likewise the "Jesus" of the Koran is not the "Jesus" of the Bible who is the son of God and who died on the cross and rose from the dead.

"They do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion, but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Islamic tradition holds that Judaism and Christianity distorted the messages of these prophets over time either in interpretation, in text, or both."

Your premise is incorrect. Allah and YHWH are not the same God. Allah in his Quran boasts that he is the great deceiver and is the most above all deceiver. So does the god of this world Satan boast the same thing. YHWH is the true God, the only God. Allah in his Quran wills the destruction of the Jews. Satan hates anything special to God. Muslims are not seeking peace; rather the total annihilation of Israel. As long as a Jew breathes, the Muslim is unhappy. In Jerusalem a Jew hired Palestinian workers because he wanted peace with his neighbors. They worked side by side in friendliness. One day the Palestinians rose up and killed their Jewish boss with knives. They admitted that they liked the Jew, and that they got along very well. So why did you kill him, they were asked. Because he was a Jew, they said.

Because they are all humans trying to prove a point and placing their focus on their human interpretations of what is beyond their ability to explain.
