Hi, I recently bought a PS3 and I need some major help with it. Ok, I bought an American PS3 (60GB) & I updated to the latest firmware version. I inserted one of my PS2 games in the PS3, and after I start the game, the screen ends up going black and stays like that until I turn the system off. I tried this with about 5 PS2 games already and they all do the same thing. I checked on Sony's Compatibility website and all games are compatible with my game disc. What is wrong or do I have a malfunctioned PS3? Everything else works great. Thanks for helping.

Can someone please help me by posting some serious answers. Some of the answers I've seen are horrible and shows how "knowledgeable" someone is. Thanks & very much appreciated.

I also have the 60GB PS3 and when I play all of my PS2 games there isn't a problem. First of all, are the PS2 games pirated? Because if they are, then that can be one reason why the screen stays black.

I doubt that you have a malfunctioned PS3. I think that you should email Sony's customer service for the Playstation 3 and tell them the problem that your having, I'm sure that they can help you even more. The website for Playstation products and customer service is: www.us.playstation.com
