Here are a few hints:
My father lived in this cult for 11 years until the age of 19. My parents sent me to a similar cult when I was 13, where I was brainwashed by women and men in long black robes.
The female leaders covered their heads, and the male leaders had young boys dressed in robes who served them in a daily ceremony.
They brainwashed us into believing that we were eating flesh and drinking blood even though we didn't see any blood.
I had to report any personal wrongdoings to a a male in a closed booth in the semi-dark if I wanted to be saved. Every day I had to kneel for hours, and speak in a language I didn't understand.
I was not allowed to leave the enclave. They made me dress like the other females, where we all slept in a large room of about 50.
I lived in the cult for 3 years, it took a year to deprogram me.
There are still many cults like this around the world.
Now do you know what it is?

So did you leave the Catholic Church and join another Christian cult? Or did you decide that they were all trying to brain-wash you into believing that you had to conform to what they say or you'll go to hell.
Then you became an enlightened person, like an atheist. And now you can make fun of people who believe that life has meaning and purpose. Laugh at people who believe in a God, and that this God loves them. Go and get drunk and lead a life of self-absorbed decadence... Sounds okay to me.

the only group I know of is krishna and scientology and witches. Not sure if either fits your situation.
Some of the other responders suggested you were talking about catholicism, but that isn't correct since catholicism isn't a cult since you said you were "not allowed to leave the enclave", and catholics don't have an enclave, they don't sleep 50 to a room, Mass is said in English, and they don't brainwash you there (you're there by choice), etc.

I have been in a cult for 6 months. They make me sit in a small cubical and type on a computer all day, and I am only allowed to see my family in the evenings and on weekends.

LOL - I've joked (within my own circles only) that Christianity, and Catholicism especially, can be like a cult. Do as we say, or you're going to hell. Do as we say, or you're a bad person. Do as we say, or you'll spend years in Purgatory. When you're brought up this way, it's sometimes as difficult to leave as it is to leave some of the more recognized 'cults'.
May the God of YOUR CHOICE Bless you!

But, your 3-year stint with the club is worth its weight in gold. Now, you know how beautiful the world is outside such cults! Now, you can enjoy life to the full.
