You'd probably consider me old...I'm 63. I last the last time I ate prunes, they were in a pork chop stuffing my 25 year old neighbor made. It wasn't very good, either. I eat graham crackers only when they're used in a pie crust. Applesauce I do eat occasionally, because my granddaughter loves it.

Some of my favorite things to eat are rare prime rib, tiramisu, creme brulee, blow-your-head-off HOT crawfish etouffee, steamed lobster, shrimp scampi, artichokes with hollandaise sauce, fried chicken, home made salsa using plenty of jalapenos, jambalaya, poached salmon, and roast chicken with lots of garlic.

Some things I don't like eating are fast food burgers and fries. Aren't those your favorite things to eat? Maybe when you grow up, you're tastes will become more sophisticated and you won't think McDonalds is the answer to all your prayers. LOL

Bananas are excellent because they are easy to chew and digest, plus they are rich in potassium.

My grandma also enjoys mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar and butter, mashed potatoes and gravy, watermelon and cantaloupe.

Basically, anything fairly easy to chew is good. Everyone likes variety and sometimes it's difficult for older people who don't chew well to get that.

Another consideration is protein. My grandma has dentures and it's difficult for her to chew meat. We've found some high protein shakes that she likes. You just have to experiment with brands since everyone tends to like something different.

I agree that getting old doesn't change your food preferences. My dad is 70 and we went out for dinner last weekend and had prime rib, baked potatoes and asparagus. He eats cookies for breakfast and loves mexican food.

The same kinds of foods as normal people? You don't suddenly change in your personality and likes/dislikes once you get older.
