The Holy Ghost was prophesied by Joel and Isaiah in the Old Test. In the New Test, the Holy Ghost was promised in Acts 2:38, after Jesus died on the cross and after you repented and were baptized. From proof throughout the Bible, the Holy Ghost that is promisd here, is speaking in other tounges. What are your thoughts?

I think God gives the holy spirit to all who truly repent and accept Jesus into their lives.

I believe you have to receive the Holy Ghost, just as the Bible says. That is when Christ's Spirit is apart of you. That is when you become a new creature in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17. John 3:5 Jesus answered, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Of the spirit means, receiving the Holy Ghost.

The "other tongues" that you are referring to is not a foreign language that is known here on Earth. It is God's language. Most of the time, speaking in tongues doesn't make a lot of sense to many of us. During the time in which our words are no longer enough to convey our praise and worship the spirit steps in to speak for us. Sometimes an individual will be called for by God to speak in tongues. The Bible states that when this happen that not only will their be a person who speaks but their will be a person who interprets. NEVER is this the same person (if the same person does both, then the message is NOT from God). Some churches do not believe in tongues. I personally do. I have never spoken in tongues but have witness both someone praising in tongues and two people (who didn't know each other) speak and interpret in tongues.

The bible in Acts chapter 2 talks about other tongues which is languages spoken by people and they can understand it. It was given to the apostles on the day of Pentecost so that the WORD OF GOD could be spread to everyone living in that place and they could hear it in their own languages

You missed John 15 and 16.

What Jesus said was required is that you trust Him by believing in His Son. He didn't say that you had to speak in tongues.

Those are not just my thoughts, it's what the Bible says. The requirement to speak in tongues are a religious weight placed by Pentecostals and a few others. Jesus didn't say you had to speak in tongues, I'll believe him, you go where you think is necessary.

It is the baptism of fire spoken of by Jesus. It comes after one is baptized by water, by immersion, as Jesus was.

It is called that because it can manifest itself to us by causing our hearts to burn. It enables us to know God's truth.

It is also called the still, small voice. God can testify to us that we are following his Plan and desires through the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
