We will never know if they are lying until our troops move from Iraq to Iran.

When I go to court, a rare event I might add, I always employ a lawyer who I know is a world class cheat and liar who will defend me to the hilt and tell the world and his dog that I, the accused am as innocent as newly fallen virgin snow.
I expect my government to lie and cheat on my behalf and bamboozle foreigners with high-fallootin talks of the Anglo Saxon kind which defies all understanding. I expect my MP to claim maximum expenses, have two or three Rolls Royce's, country houses, yachts and so on, all paid for out of tax payers money.
If my MP manages to swindle his way into a UK.gov job, I expect him to disappear from the map with his newly formed harem of girls and not come back until the next election.
What's life for anyway?

How do you know the government lied about Iraq?
Solar power would be more efficient for them, and it would be a great political move. "Look, we have scrapped the idea of nuclear power, and installed solar collectors. We like the environment." That would be great public relations.
In fact, they have some very windy areas, wind turbines would be a good asset for them.

Have you spoken to ANY soldier who has actually BEEN in Iraq? Not CNN.....a live person. THEY have seen the desolation, starvation while Hussein and his posse lived high on the hog, raped any 10 year old they wanted. Who cares about WMD....how about simple civil liberties? As usual, the US the scape goat. Turkey would not allow US to use airspace, now they are crying for our help. We need to adapt a theory of every country for itself. Support our allies, hell with the rest.

you don't...but i do believe, from somewhat slightly more reliable sources, that Iran are in fact covertly pursuing a nuclear weapons program. They have such abundant natural energy sources that it would be superfluous for them to pursue a civilian nuclear energy program...they have no need for it...the cultural difference between Iran and the West is such that they don't even understand that their lame attempts to cover up what they're doing would be utterly transparent to us...there's a kind of dark humour to their retorts...

and if its not? You may not be able to trust the government on somethings but as far as national security I would trust their judgement. I maybe for energy reasons only but how do we know that for sure? How do we know they wont use their nuclear capabilities against us or an ally like Isreal?

They didn't lie. The source below is for the Congressional Authorization to carry out offensive military operations against Iraq. There is very little mention about WMDs in that authorization. The reasons for our action are in that authorization.

that marching order from Nancy Pelosi shouldve been cancelled months ago. read the THOUSANDS of postings from other liberal extremists and you will see the same answer over and over and over as someone has already posted here. congress approved an article of war. its not bushs war even though clinton and edwards flip flopped. they voted for it PERIOD. and wmds were CLEARLY posted in richard butlers report to the un.
and i stongly echo the other sentiment of the other poster.
