A hypocritical 'what'? NO ONE is perfect. If someone claims one way, then does the opposite, it's only because it's HUMAN NATURE to err. So if THAT'S the basis of comparison for you, then - Yes . . . everyone is hypocritical. And that would include me . . . AND YOU!!

certainly - it's part of human nature. No one is exempt.

EDIT _ purposeful or not, wel meaning or just annoying, EVERYONE has at LEAST ONE hypocritical moment in their lives. Those claiming that people aren't hypocritical should take a good hard look at their lives.

call it any other word you want, it's still the same thing - a rose by any other name....

Or have you ever told your children not to do something - or punished your children - for doing something that you have done, maybe still do? That's hypocricy.

No, everyone is not a hypocrite. Everyone does, I believe, the best they can in the circumstances they are in.Some people are outrught hypocrites, I won't deny that. Some people even know it and don't care! But I think over all most people are fairly decent.

Yes. As I understand it, we are all capable of doing all wrong things. It's our nature. So the hypocrites are calling the hypocrites hypocrites. We may be right in calling someone on a particular hypocritical statement, but we are just as guilty of it ourselves. That's why it might be good when calling someone on it to remain gentle about it.

People tend to confuse "hypocritical" with "imperfect." Hypocrisy is a form of lying - it means you claim to be one way when you really act the opposite. It doesn't mean that you say something is wrong and then go out and do it. Nobody lives up their own ideal - that is a shortcoming, but it is not hypocrisy.

*Hypocrite

And no. Just because it "seems" that way does not make it so. When you have met everyone in the world, THEN you can judge.
