I really didn't see anything that I considered to be beautiful when I was there. It really isn't a tourist country and I really don't know why you want to go there. Yeah it has a lot history in the bible but everyone is muslim there and they are very passionate about thier religion and are pretty violent (not all of them). It is a dangerous place.

I've been there. I don't recall ever seeing anything really beautiful over there. It may have been the Garden of Eden during the O.T. But it's not anymore. I agree with one of the answers before. The most beautiful thing I saw was the runway as I was leaving.

The best areas right now are in Northern Iraq where it is currently quiet, but that may not be for much longer depending on current international events.

Lake Dahuk has even been open for tourism as of two years ago. It looks very nice. The are is not all desert like you see in southern Iraq, it is forested mountains. For a while we were sending soldiers there for R&R.

The most beautiful thing I've seen here in Baghdad is was a mural on a wall in the International Zone (the green zone). It was a piture of saddam and written on it was "US Good, Iraq Good, Saddam Donkey". Haha, I wish I could've taken a picture of that. Otherwise, there's some really nice sunsets here.

It depends on your perspective. To many billionaires the oil fields are the most breath taking sight in the country. To the humanitarians it's the endurance of the people that live within the war-torn capitol. To the terrorists it's the look of fear in a childs eye.

Baghdad was nice I guess if your into 3rd world. Mosul is alright to but its stinks alot more than the rest of the country. mmmmmm yea Iraq pretty much sucks and I wouldnt waste my money... If you throw your trash in the middle of the street and have your sh*t flowing outside you will have an authentic Iraqi experiance for alot cheaper and without having to deal with haj.
