why import one when you can buy one? I thought Cali. Had some of the sickest imports? I live in a little place called lady lake florida, 30 minutes from Ocala and there are two GTRs for sale. One is a 2000 model with an RB26DETT 50k miles and he only wants 20,000 for it. Why don't you try finding one that is already imported? And no they are not illegal.

And next year the new skyline GTR comes out makes over 450 hp all wheel drive and only 1600 will be imported for $80,000 plus dealer mark up with warranty? Driving a right hand drive car is dangerous and especially a car with out the protection of 6 air bags. California smog regulations EPA and DOT regulations clearing customs will be nightmare after you post a bond for the entire value of the car you have a year to get it smogged safety mods put on different windshield glass and bumper reinforcements different headlights and side marker lamps. And smog certified. Almost all the shops doing Skylines got closed down for Illegal car still running around DOT EPA does not like that. They revoke your bond seize the car and have it crushed while they take pictures. Trust me just buy a 350Z or next summer get a SKYLINE GTR. New cars sell more sponsorships for your drifting effort or road racing. And all the good rust free Skylines are already gone there wern't that many produced you should have started this 10 years ago

On top of the car cost, you will have the import cost, the US customs inspection cost, the US customs storage cost, the cost of putting smog equipment on the car, finding an insurance company that will insure the car, More than likley you will have to carry a company that deals with exotics, so expect about $500-$700/month, and the government in California is a pain in the rear. You can expect (depending on the year and make of the Skyline) about $120,000-$200,000 total cost to LEGALLY import the car and have it registered.

It's very difficult to get a Skyline into the US, there's a lot of rings you have to jump through - it's very expensive.
