I wouldn't be a "good" novel if Satan was the "important character" now would it. He did have a staring role in Genesis but of course that didn't go too well for him. Then there is Revaluations, that one is good because it shows his finial demises.
But if you really want to read a good book, read "Swan's Song" it might shed some light on some things for you

Why would anybody say the Bible?
It is questionable whether or satan is even a character in the Bible.

There are a lot of medieval plays that have Satan as the main character. They were called mystery plays. Dunno about novels though....
