Honestly I think the "My faith is the truth" answers are a load of crap. If that's what you believe, that's fine, but really it's your faith then. Because you have FAITH that what you believe is truth. And don't we all? I have faith that what I believe is true, but that doesn't make it any more or less true that yours.

I'm not disagreeing with anyone specifically. Muslims and Christians have posted on here saying virtually the same thing, that their faith is the truth. But we have a proble. Is the Muslim faith the truth? Or the Christian one? Or both? Or how about my faith?

So, then what anyone who says "both" is really saying is a disguised "faith" because they don't want to be criticized by the agnostic and atheist logic people, or perhaps they really are so ignorant as to believe that the universe revolves around what belief they conveniently subscribe to.

What is truth?

Depending upon who you ask today, the question "What is Truth" will get you very different answers and, perhaps, lead to even more questions. Here are some current thoughts on truth:

There is No Absolute Truth.

But wait a minute! This statement is making an absolute claim to truth. It defeats its own claim.

Truth is Relative.

Does that include the statement that truth is relative? It would have to, making this statement invalid since no claim to truth can be made by this statement, including the claim that truth is relative.

You have Your Truth and I have My Truth.

And if your truth and my truth are in conflict, what do we have? Can there be conflicting truths? If so, then how do you determine what is valid? If my truth is that there is no God, and your truth is that there is a God, does that really effect whether there is a God or not? Saying that we each have our own truth may make us comfortable but we would have to not care about truth to say this, because no matter what my experience or your experience tells us, the truth exists as it is.

Truth is within You.

Seek truth within yourself and you are back to what your experience tells you or to what you want to be the truth. Your perception may affect you and be true to what you want to believe, but it does not affect what the truth really is. Your experience and belief could be telling you that something false is true.

So what is Truth?

If you're tired of wondering or of playing these mind games, consider that maybe truth is not all that complex. Maybe it is something a child can grasp. Maybe truth is a person. The God-Man Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

Will you be like Pilate, who asked "What is truth?" (John 18:38) right after Jesus said to him, "And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true," (John 18:37b)?

Or will you be like the Roman officer who saw Jesus die on the cross and said, "Truly, this was the Son of God!" (Mark 15:39)

As Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, " (John 11:25) and "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture," (John 10:9).

I think the question presumes a "box" where you have two inner-boxes, labeled

faith
truth

unfortunately, that's not how I see it, so I can't give a meaningful answer

If I suspect something is not true, I'd feel like a fraud to include that in my "faith-box"

maybe this is a way of suspecting that "passing the truth-test" is important.

"Law of the excluded middle" might be important in math-reasoning, but it's not how the human psyche seems to operate

For me it is truth. Jesus says He is the Truth and God's Word is Truth and the Word was made Flesh. My faith is only as strong as the Object that it is based on. The object of my faith is God.

Functional faith and truth are important to me. I constantly discern both. It is the seeking of what works for healing that counts for me. "If it hurts, don't do it?", but I apply that to society and what happens if we all think like x y or z.

Any dis ease that promotes insulation from healing is counterproductive to human existence, no matter how holy the proliferators of that belief or truth say they are!

Healing is the most important thing to me. It trumps faith and truth, unless they all agree.

Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine

truth. You can have all the faith in the world but it won't mean a thing if it's misplaced. People used to be 100% sure the Earth was flat.

Assalaam A Alaikum,

I agree with A Muslim
In my view both are important you can’t proof a truth unless you faith on that as kissi bii such per Yeqeen karna bohat zaroori hai

For example we can’t be a true Muslims unless we will not accept the truth that there is only and only ONE ALLAH (SWT) and Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is his last messenger.

We can’t be a real Muslims unless our faith is not Strong on this truth and ALLAH (SWT)

So truth is not complete without faith for any truth faith is must.

May Allah keep’s us all in his Rahama (AMEEN)

my faith is in God and with it comes the truth, and i see it as you do all in one because who would want to have a faith that has no truth to is? that is where you get the false prophets from who teach their own faith and take away the truth, and lead you way from Gods' salvation, and destroies your soul.
