both are Muslims following different fiqa.they both practice the Islamic values but see hadith and quran from different perspective

Sunni practice hadith from the thoughts of Imam Abu Hanifa

while shia practice hadith from the thoughts of imam Abu Jafer

so there is a difference of opinion or u can say thoughts.

as far as fight is concern its all political and not religious

1) both are right according to their own beliefs.
2) yes they also believe
3) no mater to real Muslim who follow the real Islam from quran and hadith and not following any fiqa
4) because they don't believe on birth control. LOL

1-both are right, the differences are mainly political. the main believes are still the same, it's just that shiaas believe that only descendants from the Prophet can be rulers of the Muslim, Sunnis believe that anyone who is choosen by the Muslims can be a leader as long as he is capable.

2- I think both do, but in different ways (but anyway it doesn't matter because Imam Mahdi is not mentioned in the Quran so we have to know that no version will be 100% accurate if even true)

3- Well it makes sense to believe in the one that makes sense to you, for me it's Sunni not Shiaa islam because I don't believe in inherited dynasty.

4- I guess because alot of people agree with the point that I just made about dynasty.

5- You have to be careful where you get your information, some sunni imams don't know what they're talking about, some shiaa imams don't know what they're talking about ! so you have to find the ones that are actually honest and know what they're talking about... whichever one it may be(sunni or shiaa)

1)The Difference is rather a Huge Gap,the Shi'as believe that Muslims' leadership should be Muhammad's cousine(Ali ben Abi Talib) and His Offsprings, thus, they don't recognize all the Caliphs who succeded Mohammad, worse they label them as infidels.
2) Sunni Believe in Mahdi but they say it isn't necessary to be from Ali's offsprings as Shi'a claim.
3)Yes ,Since both Claim to be righteous and the other isn't.
4)Sunnis' Dogma is the mainstream and easier and more logical than the version Shi'as adopt

1. the major difference is that the sunnis follow along with the prophet, the caliphs (the prophets friends) and their hadiths. the shias follow the prophet and his direct family (cousin, daughter, etc). the reason we do things like pray a little bit differently and follow some different hadiths is because of this.
2. sunnis believe in the mahdi too. they believe he isnt born yet. shias on the other hand believe he was always alive and humankind is just waiting for him to reveal himself.
3. it does not matter as long as your intentions are pure and you learn both sides. (do your research) personally i've read boks from both sides so that i know what im doing is right. read books about what sunnis believe and what shiaas believe and juxtapose. (books are most credible!!)
4. why are there more christians than hindus? i dont know. its demographics. im sure people follow what their families and cultures teach them. Ive learned that from converts everywhere. (btw, many sunnis areconverting to shiia according to census)

1) Sunni in full word is "Ahl alSunna walJama'at" meaning the people following the Sunnah (way) of Prophet of God and his Jama'at (followers and especially 4-pious caliphs.

Shia means "Group which is separated" and they called themselves as Shian Ali meaning group which separated to accept only Ali as pious caliphs and discarded others.

2) Sunni believe in Mahdi named Mohammad who will be a pious caliph before descension of Jeusus Christ in Ommayad Mosque in Damascus Syria and his fight with Anti-Christ who will be blind from one eye.

Shia believe Mahdi was their 12th Imam who disappeared and will appear again near the time of Descension of Jesus and appearing of Anti-Christ.

3) Being a Sunni I feel I love all prophets, followers of prophet, 4-pious caliph, relative of our prophet etc.

And being a Shia I have to hate religiously the first 3-cliphs which I feel is not good.

4) Sunni is from major stream of Islam so they are more. While shia as their name tells a separated group so they are less.

In general I have no hatred against any shia or perhaps any human being, this was my belief.

1.It does not matter you are sunni or shia it is important that you are muslim or at least a good person
2.Shia in arabic means party (like political party). Before the death of Muhammad people used to call the close friends of Ali (cousin of muhammad) Shia.
3.Right after the death of Muhammad while Ali were busy with funeral, Abu bakr and omar and 4 other sahaba were busy with who gets the power after muhammad!!! They all disregarded Muhammad saying that suggested Ali directly and indirectly as the leader of umma after his death. like Qadi Khomm or lots of other hadith,....
4.Omar killed Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad (wife of Ali) with a baby inside and unfortunately sunni scholars especially wahabbis do not like talking about this part of history and if you ask them why the tomb of Zahra is unknown they will become angry of you. This incident made shia very disapointed and sad.
5.Jamal war also were another story that Aiyasha and some sahaba went to war with Ali and after Ali defeated them, he respectfully returned Ayasha to medina/mecca
6.Karbala incident where Yazid killed Hussain were another sad historical point that shia wanted separate themselves from those who call themselves muslims and say Allah o Akbar but beheaded the grand son of Muhammad.
7.Shia love Ahlul bayt and shia is the enemy of the enemy of Ahlol bayt.
8. Yazid were son of Moavai and moavia were son of Abu sofian whose wife killed and eated the liver of Hamza in ohod war. Guess who put Moavia in shaam? Omar your second Khaliff. Guess who went to war with Ali in Seffain war? Moavia
