When I was a Christian, I was reading the Bible and there were way too many contradictions in it for me to be able to force myself to believe but not only that. I noticed how "Christians" were even bigger contradictions than the Bible and that the Bible was just a scare tactic.

Yes, the bible is very harsh, sexist and even condones slavery in the books of Deuteronomy, Corinthians, and Leviticus.
yet Matthew 22:37-40
"...The second most important is similar: 'Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself.' All other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws..."
If you loved your neighbor as much as you loved yourself, you surely wouldn't put them into slavery, stone them to death, cut off their hands, or exile them from society.
The bible was written by human beings throughout different time periods and translated and revised numerous times. It isn't perfect like some people pretend it to be. There are even books that were taken out of the bible because they either made no sense or had no relevance.

Short form: yes, with qualifications.
I've found things I don't like, and things I don't understand. Most of the "contradictions" that are mentioned here and elsewhere evaporate if you simply read the text, but there are a couple that persist. Personally, I take the attitude that the preponderance of evidence is on the side of Scripture, and I adopt a "wait and see" attitude for the things I don't understand. There have been several that I've eventually seen resolved, and I expect that eventually they all will be.

Is God good to all, or just a few?
PSA 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
JER 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.

There are certain "numbers" that might contradict but if you study the context a little bit closer you will realize there is usually a reason that the numbers don't match up. Theological, Historical, Cultural, etc, etc.
The Bible NEVER contradicts itself theologically.
