In the Torah it is very clear that you are allowed to kill animals for food. You are not allowed to go hunting for the sport, though.

No it quite is no longer, and sin is quite a human made theory, hey, some human beings have self assurance that intercourse in all of its varieties and varieties is a sin,have self assurance it or no longer. Because the two are not comparable.

While it is certainly cruel to kill and destroy life for no particular reason, the life of an animal and a person cannot be equated.

cognizant, self-aware, creature able to discern right from wrong.
Another is a creature that runs simply on instinct.

because the bible is anthropocentric and disregards animals. thats one of the reasons i scoff at the bible.
