I'm a teenager, and i think that it's because most people take life to seriously. At this age we're finding out that life is short and also being informed about all the horrible happenings in this world. It gets harder and harder to see the point in living, and rules just make living the way we want to harder.
People say we should go to college, get a good paying job, raise a family, and it's too much for us. We're still just kids and we're still finding out what we're comfortable with and what we want to do with our lives.
We're just barely getting out there and having breakups and heartbreak and friend problems and all the pressure to do drugs or drink at parties and it's a lot to handle.
All the small rules don't seem to matter so much. We just wanna get out there and live a little.

I don't think you have to delve into the psychological for the answer to this; simply think logically.
Teenagehood is the most difficult part of human social development, if only because it is the most crucial. It is the transition between childhood and adulthood, and most teens are faced with greater amounts of responsibility. They are told to stop acting like children, but many people still treat them like children. Plus, their mind and body are going through emotional and chemical changes which confuse them and start to change their view of the world. The mental and physical changes from child to adult only start at puberty; and sometimes do not finish for a decade.
Faced with these kinds of factors, it is no wonder that many teens attempt to reject the responsibilities and choices facing them by acting up or breaking the rules.

Teenagers are just finding out about the world. They have heard about the consequences of breaking rules for so long, and some of them have been bogus, so they want to see what the REAL consequences are. They're testing the world like scientists, not trusting what they hear, but only trusting their own experience.

Just like a toddler, they are testing limits and exploring cause and effect. They want to make their own identity, and they don't know how quite to do it, so they test out things. Really, it is just the toddler years happening all over again.

because teenagers want to be free and independent. like at school, if they brake rules, maybe something is going on in their life that is overwhelming them. Teens also dont like to be treated like kids anymore. They want to go out and do their own thingg.

Come on we were all teenagers once. Just put yourself in their place and see how did you feel when you were that age. "THE SAME" so reverse Psychology always works not restrictions.!!
