"Do tattoos hurt" "where should i get this dolphin" "what do you think i should get and where do i find it online" What???

What happened to getting inked because you wanted to mark an important time, or make a rite of passage, or worked really hard planning a piece that no one else could ever duplicate that really means something to you? Putting thought into and being proud of your work? Seriously, how much did yosemite sam really effect your life? I never realized how cheap these trend whores have made it until i started reading thru this section. breaks my heart. *sniff*

im not Kat . . .sorry!

Stick of butter w/ wings . . thats freakin great . . im gonna get that next . . (j/k!)

i like how the really defensive people are the ones most likely to have that tweetie bird or clay aiken on their forehead . . .

im not stuck up it's just something i take to heart and it kills me that people today see something on some dude in a band or some chick in hot topic and run out and get the exact same thing.

Im 25 and have 8 . . not old and wrinkly . . yet, haha.

People have the right to shave swastikas in their hair too, doesnt mean they should.

Thanks everyone!!

if you find it annoying, don't be part of it.
I used to love being a Harley rider until it became a fashion trend. I still ride, but no more "bike week" "bike night" "charity rides" etc....... I guess one thing you and I have in common is we are angry about the "pussification" of our passions so everyone can be a part of it.

I agree with you!

What annoys me more (I'm not saying you are doing this) is people (that I've seen on here) assume just because you aren't in your late 20's, that you are getting a tattoo to be fashionable. I hate that.

But I hate the people who do get it to be fashionable. I just think, at the end of the day those are going to be the people that regret it the most.

But, I've come to like this section in a way (for the better questions) I used to hang out in the society and culture section (well mainly the r&s and LGBT sections) but I got so fed up with preachers, bigots and people thinking their religion is the right one.

Don't worry, there are still some people around that get inked to mark an important time etc. I'm 18 and got my first tatt (I even waited until the legal age!) to symbolise getting over the past but still learning from it.

I agree. When I was younger I always wanted a tattoo that meant something to me. Now everywhere you turn every chick has a tramp stamp, someone's got a tribal band around their arm, or a chinese symbol on the back of their neck. Tattoos are so trendy these days that I think you're more of an individual not to have one so I think I'm gonna stay away from that bandwagon and remain inkless.

I've had some needles stuck in me that could have had a great tattoo. The only thing I say the younger people around is look where you what it, then look at an older person who has one and see if it sags because you can live that long.

I don't actually have a tatoo, which is why I can't give you best answer, but I can say that it should mean something. It's your body it's not like a haircut, it's permanent. I'm not against them, I just haven't made that kind of decision yet. I do get annoyed by people like that.

HIghya Blue, my name is Timothy, and I am a fan of body art;
Presently I have only 1 tattoo that is wanting modification. I am looking gr8ly 4ward 2 going bald, as that will present me with prime real estate 4 art~

I have visualized a tattoo of puzzle peice outlines, with a peice missing and my brain showing in realistic 4m!

That way if NEbody says 2 me, U dun have NE brains Tim!,

I can take my hat off and say 'Sure I do, look~!'

I hope your artwork brings U much!!

Timothy

I'm not a big fan of flash either....I only have three tats so far, they all have a significant meaning to me. Don't get me wrong though, I do look around the internet for good tats i can get, but after I find one I like I at least think of different ways I can change it so its not the same thing.

i agree in part. this whole tatoo fad has gone way to far. i'm 41 and have never gotten one because i can't think of anything i want on my body for the rest of my life. now it seems that any one who saved up enough money has to get some meaningless tatoo just because thats what everyone else is doing. it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Yes you have a valid point that tattoos have lost a bit of their significance but... if the section annoys you go over to a different section.
