i started wearing mine when i was in 6th grade, [in 10th now]and i haven't lost one yet.
they're so much nicer & if you're wearing contacts you'll be keeping your glasses safe at home with less chance of breaking them.
glasses for me also hurt my head if i wore them for too long.
i also had to always move them to see everywhere.
contacts are amazing and very easy to take care of.

First of all, how old are you? Most docs reccommend that you are 13 and above and you must have parental consent. Other than that, you have to realize that contacts are a HUGE responsibility. This is your vision, and if you sleep in the contacts or wear them too long you can seriously mess up your eyes. After all this you still think you are responsible enough for it, I suggest you try something small around the house. Doing your chores on time every time, or not coming home late. Showing your more responsible with little things might change their minds about the big ones.

Do something, baby sitting, window cleaning, yard work to earn money to pay for the insurance or the contacts. Show you are responsible by putting up some of your money. My son just paid half of a $1000 computer and he is 13. That will show her you are serious and be very careful in keeping them clean. Do just as the doctor tells you. You'll avoid infections and will be able to keep them.
Good luck,

Today just about everyone can wear contact lenses, and there are more healthful and convenient contact lens options than ever before. Contact lenses are used to correct the same conditions that eyeglasses correct. For all details, information and remedies about contacts check out http://use-contactlens.blogspot.com/

well it really depends on your age. I'd say you can tell her she can supervise you putting them in and taking them out until she feels you are responsible enough.
No matter what age you are when you first start to wear them there may be issues, but once you are fully used to them it will be all good.
