Personally, I believe Labador Retrievers (Golden Retrievers, Black Labs, Etc.) are the best "Family Dogs", but having had a Dachshund, a Rottwieler, and a Lab, the Dachshunds are next best to Labs.

If u have space a Shepard or lab are great. Restricted space a small mutt or Dachshund. Shiatsu is kind of temperamental for my taste.

i think you mean shih tzu. I don't have one so i can't really tell you if they are. I guess it all depends on your preference. For me i prefer big dogs to small, and i have Weimaraners. So i would have to say weims are the best dogs, with english bulldogs comming in second.

Everyone has their own favorite breed. I like most of them although I'm not a huge fan of the really small ones.

American Pit Bull Terrier's! Duh . there the best family dogs ever i own three and my mom has a chihuahua and it attacks my pit bulls and they just lay there . Little dogs just bark and never shut up and hard to house break . & pit bulls are easy to take care of , they dont have bad leg problems or need a bath everyweek.

Believe it or not Pit Bulls. If they are treated with loving care, they can be the sweetest, loyalest and docile (yes, I kid you not) pets.
