The first weekend in November. it means that it won't get dark until 6pm (Vancouver time) for the trick-or-treaters this year!

In the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the US changed the days we make the change. Canada quickly conformed. The Act came into effect this year. It is the first Sunday in November from now on. Or until the politicians decide to change it again. For the spring it is March instead of April.

Clocks fall back on November 4th at 2 am... wherever you are. Normally it is the last sunday in October, but it has been extended a week this year.

In most of Canada Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 a.m. local time on the second Sunday in March. On the first Sunday in November areas on Daylight Saving Time return to Standard Time at 2:00 a.m. During Daylight Saving Time turn your clocks ahead one hour.

Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), and so forth. Some areas of Canada not using Daylight Saving Time include, Fort St. John, Charlie Lake, Taylor and Dawson Creek in British Columbia, Creston in the East Kootenays, and most of Saskatchewan (except Denare Beach and Creighton).
NEW! In 2007 Daylight Saving Time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. This pattern will be followed by all provinces which observe daylight saving time and each province has amended their legislation to reflect this change.

12:00 am Sunday November 4th. or to remember when... turn your clock back one hour before you go to bed saturday night november 3rd. YAY, we get an extra hour to sleep on sunday!
