DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SHOOT .44 REMMAG AMMO IN YOUR .410 SHOTGUN!!!!!!

Your .410 ammunition is loaded to less than 20,000 cup of pressure. .44 RemMag ammo is loaded to over 40,000 cup of pressure.

Shooting a .429" projectile through a .410" bore, with pressures more than twice as high as the gun is designed to handle is a recipe for disaster!!!

If you want your kid to shoot a single projectile in his .410, get a couple of boxes or .410 slugs. Better yet, get him a 20 gauge shotgun which is much more effective.

BAD IDEA!..NO It is NOT SO...44 Magnum ammunition CANNOT be fired thru ANY 410 gauge Shotgun barrel. As a Gunsmith, I am assuming you have a Savage Model 24 .22LR over 410 gauge Combination Rifle/Shotgun. Savage never designed or intended this firearm to handle the pressures created by a 44 Magnum bullet. It is designed to shoot 2 1/2" or 3" .410 Gauge Shotgun shells ONLY!!! NO EXCEPTIONS......TO ATTEMPT THIS WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!

As you have heard already, do not attempt this. Whoever told you this was mistaken. There are some SPECIFIC 410 shotguns that can handle a .45 long colt shell but they are more robustly designed to do so and they will specify it if they can. A normal .410 shotgun will explode if you try this.

There are some pistols, Taurus Judge for example, which will shoot .410 and .45 long colt. Don't try it in your rifle unless the manual says it can handle the pressures. If you could get a .44 mag to stay in place to be fired, the higher pressure would probably blow your gun up.

NO, .410 is NOT interchangeable with any other rounds.

the .44 rem mag develops too much pressure in the barrel to be fired from the average .410. The .45 colt is the best match given that you don't have a full choke or turkey choke barrel.

Listen to these people who are telling you not to do this. This would be a great way eat chunks of the gun.

You will need a rifled (grooved) barrell in order to use a solid slug in the shotgun
