We live in an apartment complex and one of our neighbors got a Puppy. We weren't sure exactly where the new dog was but then had further evidience it was nearby when it was left out in a storm that lasted hours.

The dog has been left out through atleast 3 storms now.

We do have Patios in back in our apartments, but when I checked up on the dog.. it's owners have coated everything in straw and not given it a shelter.

The dog buried a hole so it could get out, under the fence, and posibly under the cement on the patio. They have put bails outside the patio and moved all the haye to fill the hole, plus covered it all with the bails.

So the Puppie's makeshift shelter plan has been foiled ( not that it would have helpped).

We have had neighbors live animals out when temps dropped below freezeing and in nasty snow storms that hit a couple animals were reduced to popsicles :(

So any numbers I can call when things start to head that way AGAIN?

Police are useless here. I was in a multi-car accident and they kept blowing us off because they don't like this area.

Are there any Phone Numbers for the US that could connect me to closer help, as you are suggesting there are local devisions.

Tiffany: We own two Hypoallergenic Cats. You also never know how a dog will react or it's state of health/mind.

Go to spca.com
Then go to the 'about us' icon. Then click on the red heart that says, 'contact us'..and send your report. They won't respond to your report, but will tell you who WILL respond in your area. Be sure to include the name of your city/county ( and country, if not USA)

Poor Little Baby! What a lousy way for him/her to start out their life? The poor thing obviously wants out of there, and I don't blame him/her! For the life of me, I can't begin to understand how anyone can abuse any animal or what could possibly be going through these IN-HUMAN minds of theirs! People that abuse an animal in any way, make my skin crawl. I'm sorry, but this just pisses me off!!! This particular family, is one of them and should not have gotten this puppy in the first place, if all they intended, was to just stick it outside, alone, terrified and in the cold! Poor little thing, is already trying the only way it knows how to escape, and now it can't, it's stuck there, until someone steps in and speaks for him/her, and gets him/her to a new, loving home, where he belongs and will be properly loved and taken care of, and happy for a change! I commend you for caring enough, by taking action to stop this abuse!! Thank You!!! This is definite abuse and needs to be stopped immediately, and the owners need to be prosecuted! Here are a few sites that may help you!

I hope that these sites, will help you in some way! I hope for the sake of this sweet puppy, that something is done really soon, before it ends up dead! I think the undying love, that a dog gives us deserves at least that much! Good Luck!

Uhm no offence but grow some backbone and go take the puppy you dont have to be a "lawpimp" if you care enough about a poor animal in the cold you'd go get it , or if you had any kind of a heart . But I guess if you're that scared just call the humane society , if you're not to scared to do that .

Simply call animal control, if they are really being neglectful it is illegal most every where. They have the legal and moral responsibility to take care of any one/ thing in thier care not able to care for itself. You should be able to find the number in the phone book (in the blue pages, under county in the white or at the beginning depending how it is organized)

call the RSPCA now!
most likely when the puppy is an adult
it will be very hostile to humans
since they treated the puppy so poorly
i hope it will find some better owners
