Your brain is developing faster than others. It's nothing to be too worried about.

There may be someone you know at school who seems to be a lot taller than the other kids in their class because they just had a growth spurt. What you experience is something like that, but it's with the development of the brain instead. It will probably all even out when you get older.

In the meantime, you may find that you want to make friends with people older than you or perhaps you can seek out other people your age who also feel like they are ahead. You may want to express to parents or teachers that you feel ready to take on more responsiblities and have more freedoms than what is usually given to those your age.

Please feel free to message me if you have an concerns. I'm in my 20's and I'd be happy to give you any advice if you feel you need it. Good luck, hon!

I am a bit older than you, I am 22. But I do know how you feel. I, for the past few years have felt like a 40 year old in a 22 year old body. For me, the reason for my emotional maturity to rise, was just because of the stuff I have been through. Like losing my parents when I was 18 and many other acts that do not need to be mentioned. .
It is ok to feel that way. But the person, above is right. Many people your age may have a hard time understanding where you are coming from. You will find people who understand you though.

there aren't a lot that feel that way but the is nothing wrong with that at all. I recently saw a girl 13 who used her maturity to set up a design website and became a millionaire by the age of 14. You may not do that but there are other things you will be interested in doing before others your age but on the caution side, make sure that the maturity you feel does not lead you into things which should not be rushed, like finding boyfriends or future husbands. Hang out with people you feel comfortable with regardless of whether they are your age or not and you will be fine.

I felt that way much of the time in my old elementary school, as all the girls my age were only interested in guys and backstabbing. (I went to a really small school, which didn't help) When I got to high school, I found a group of girls that talked about stuff that I'm interested in - books, moral values, and fashion :D I think I was more mature brainwise and moral wise then those other girls in many ways, but as I have high functioning Autism, I'm much weaker socially then them. My new friends don't really care much that I don't understand some things - they're always willing to help me, which I'm extremely grateful of. My advice is to look around for that group of people for you, and don't get down if you don't find it right away. It took ME years!

I have the same feeling as you do...I feel more mature than most of the guys my age, and there is nothing wrong with that. Instead it is very good and better to think that way. You would make better decisions than most of the girls your age and you would not have as much problems as them either. Keep thinking like that and don't think its weird.

I dunno. I have always been ahead emotionally & physically than girls my age. My level of thinking is that of an adult, and I'm not bragging it's just true. Everybody knows it.
My advice to you is to hang around girls a year or two older than you. All my friends are older than me, I can not for the life of me relate to gals my own age.

I have come across many like you and i've noticed something very common happening to these people. They all had trouble socializing and preferred to be alone. Well thats something i noticed generally and yes i'm aware that i could be completely wrong.
