It can be enough time depending on whether you've checked baggage and how long you have to wait at baggage claim.

There is a FlyAway service that goes from LAX to Union Station. It leaves LAX every 30 minutes and takes about 45 minutes to get to Union Station. You can check the LAX website and the Metro site for more information.

On the Metro site, use the "Metro Trip Planner" on the right side of the screen. Enter LAX in the From field, and Union Station in the To field. Fill in the other ino based on your trip details. This will give you the scheduled departure & arrival times for the shuttle.

It is less than an hour of drive from LAX to Union Station.

But very honestly, the way you are describing I can only assume you are flying in International. No one fly's domestic in to LAX and takes a train all the way to Texas. If he was flying within US he might as well fly to Texas directly.

Chances are you will never make it to Union station in 2 hours from the time you land. Firstly your flight should be on time or before, your bags must reach quickly, no long line at Immigration and then about one hour of drive from LAX to Union. I think you will have to be really lucky to make it.

By the way.. if you are flying in soon some time, please check the flight advisory for LAX. There have been delays due to the recent fire.

LAX to Union Station Flyaway: Starting July 1, the fare is $4. Buses run every 15 minutes. Commute time is 35-60 minutes. Look for the green Flyaway sign on the lower level bus medians. This is the cheapest way and most direct way to get the 20 miles to Union Station.

I work at LAX. When you arrive you will be on the lower level, go outside and stand under the GREEN sign. Get on the Flyaway Union Station Bus. It runs about every 30 minutes and is the faster and most direct to Union Station.
If you are really pressed for time grab a cab.

It's about 20 miles. If you get a ride right away, you should have enough time (if your flight arrives on time). I used to drive airport shuttles. You should reserve a shuttle ahead of time, but if you don't, Super Shuttle usually has plenty of vans available. When you go outside from the terminal, you should see someone with a blue shirt, on the island across the drive. He's with Super Shuttle. There are also many taxis in the taxi zones. When you exit the terminal, walk to the right; you'll see the taxi zone.

It's just a little less than 25 miles, but sometimes it takes well over an hour to drive there because the traffic is BAD. A bus takes carpool lanes, so it goes faster than a car, if you drive alone and cannot take a carpool lane.
