Please explain how you can make this make sense, AND how you can make this NOT sound bad.

2 Kings:19:35 And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and WHEN THEY AROSE early in the morning, behold, THEY WERE ALL DEAD CORPSES.

Most people seemed to miss the whole, 'they woke up dead' thing.

OK.
Maybe I'm taking this out of 'context'...

Chandra Wickramasinghe, a highly acclaimed British scientist, takes a similar position. “There’s no evidence for any of the basic tenets of Darwinian evolution,” he says. “It was a social force that took over the world in 1860, and I think it has been a disaster for science ever since.”

T. H. Janabi investigated the arguments put forth by evolutionists. “I found that the situation is quite different from that which we are led to believe,” he says. “The evidence is too scarce and too fragmented to support such a complex theory as that of the origin of life.”

First of all it would help if you got away from the archaic language of KJV - Old English is dead. A modern translation (NIV) says, "That night the angel of the LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning— there were all the dead bodies!"

Good stuff!

Your version is misworded or you mistyped it:

35 And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the LORD went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.

...meaning that those spared by the angel of the LORD awoke to find 185,000 in their camp were dead.

First of all, I'd like to dismiss this as just another "out of context" question, but you first have to have the correct wording down in order to do so. My Bible says "...and when people arose early in the morning, there WERE the corpses- all dead." So, it's obvious to me that not only were all the people NOT dead as you so badly implied, but, yes- you have once again taken it completely out of context. Don't you people ever grow tired of being so wrong all the time? And how do I make this sound good? Easy. God ordered the deaths of 185,000 dirt-bags who were killed for doing the very thing atheists do today. Hmmm. You're still here, so I guess He isn't the "murdering tyrant" those of your kind seem to think He is. Besides, why don't you ask Him yourself?

Oh, right; your kind doesn't believe in "sky-fairies"; alot of you just believe in alien "space-fairies".

How to talk to a Christian basher if you must....if you must quote the bible,,,do it correctly and quote the whole circustance. Why are you wasting your time here? You only put this question on to mock Christians. Why do you care so much about mocking a God, you don't think exist? You need to rethink your attitude toward others...tolerance is a good place to start.

They they who arose were the Israelites who discovered that the Assyrians were dead, Yup you took it out of context, read the entire chapter, not just a verse or two.

The Lord sent out his angel to be hitman and slaughter a whole lot of Assyrians. What's to take out of context? God is a mass murderer. This is not new news.

war never makes sense and it's never good. what's your point?

that God had that power?
or that He exercised that power?

God is not your errand boy bringing you presents every day...understand His power and show some respect for it...the assyrians probably felt the same you do about God...

Yes, as usual, scripture taken out of context is misunderstood.

read the ones before that one:

Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard. 2Kings 19:17-20
