Look at the upper Sacramento region of the state. Paradise/Magalia - up above Chico - is a great place, as is the Grass Valley/Nevada City area just east of Sacramento.

Both places are above the smog line, but below the snow line and offer moderate temperatures year round.

Either place offers great proximity to shopping, top notch health care, fine dining, the arts, Tahoe, Reno, SFO, major airports, scenic routes, great views, active retirement communities, Napa Valley, the Redwoods, the coast, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, Yosemite and well, of course... me.

Paradise/Magalia would be the least expensive to get into though it is a little further out. Acreage and solitude is available in either location, if that is your vision.

You would be very lucky to land in either location.

Check out the map. Anything in between Paradise-Grass Valley up in the mountains would be great.

Well just like the story goes- retire in Florida. I live about 50 miles North of Tampa and I would say I hate it but its great for older people. If you dont like the cold then its even better- we have only had 2 cold days this year so far and our cold was 73 during the day. Happy looking!

This is Easy...

Denver, Colorado

- 300 days of sunshine
- Not as cold as everyone makes it out to be (It was 75* yesterday!) and it's warm 7 out of 12 months
- Skiing Everywhere!
- SO MUCH TO DO!

Here in Porthill, Idaho......it's quiet and the mountains are beautiful all year round especially now with the fall colors all over. This area is definitely neighborly where you know everybody on a first name basis. There is a different atmosphere here than in the big city.......Of course it does snow here so I figure you wouldn't want to be here.

Here in Kansas City, the BBQ is awesome. It does get kinda cold in the winter time though.

I love Louisiana ...the politicians are the best money can buy..but who cares ..we have outstanding food, great fishing and hunting..(sportmans paradise) and we have homestead exemption on our homes if they are valued under a certain amount..
