My phone will only play MP3 files, so I need to convert the songs so I can play them on my phone. Does anyone know how to do this for free?

Oh yeah, all the programs need to be supported by Mac software, since I'm using an iMac.

Open the MPEG 4 file in a audio program like Wavepad. It will rip the music off of the video and then you can save the file as an MP3.

mp4 is a movie file. mp3 is a music file. try to find a program called prism to convert the files. it's free.
