I love how it's the best country in the world. It is so varied...It isn't just desert and surf. There are also tropical rainforests, huge, urban cities, vast wetlands and even snowy mountains. I also love how it's my home.

Hate is such a strong word, so I try not to use it, but I do dislike the summer heat when it gets outrageously hot. I mean, come on 46 degrees (celsius) on New Years Day in Sydney. That was so hot even going to the beach didn't cool you down, and there were power outages everywhere as people overloaded the grid with air conditioning going overdrive!

Love everything about Australia except two things:::

1) The doctors here treat you like you are in McDonald's, no personal service, don't follow you up on specialist appointments and tries to spend max, 5 mins in their office before shoving you out

2) Never enough rain.

Love the lifestyle, the usual friendliness (with exceptions like that nonsense above), the relative wealth/standard of living, our social welfare system, medicare and our right to free speech (except where it incites violence - that is illegal!).

Hate is a word that should be avoided at all costs. I'm miffed that these values seem to be disappearing in this hip-hop, in-ya-face age. The flies and mosquitoes get right up my nose (literally!) and as I saw my first snake for the season this week ... yep, I hate them too.

I emigrated to Australia from the UK 7 months ago. I am living on the Gold Coast. I love the weather, the laid back lifestyle and the no-nonsense approach to life. I hate the lack of historical buildings, pubs and (sorry to say this) English fish and chip shops!!
