You are right, that you don't just have to drink water to stay hydrated. There was a study the other day on TV where they tested two twins on all the toxic substances in their bodies, and they were the same. One twin drank 64 oz of water a day for a week. One twin drank NO water OR liquid for a week. At the end, their toxicity levels were exactly the same. One twin got her liquid from her FOOD.

Pop is full of empty calories and hard for your kidneys to filter. Juice is good in small amounts, because, like pop, it's full of sugar. Low-fat milk is great, drink as much as you like.

You're right on the mark--you know exactly what's right for you. Just avoid the empty calories and keep the lemonade and you'll do great.

Urine should be clear, except when you first wake up in the morning (it's normal for that to be yellow). Otherwise, yellow is a sign of dehydration. Probably half the population is mildly dehydrated at least half the time.

Absolutely these are giving you water. The base of all these things are water. However... pop (or soda) is never good for you. If is basically empty calories, no nutritional benefits. Milk is good for calcium etc., but it doesn't provide a lot of water for your body. Juice... that depends. 100% juice is fine, but some juices are loaded with sugar, which is a bad thing.

I would suggest you drink the 8-10 cups of water a day no matter what. Maybe as much as 3 cups of milk, 1 cup of juice, and NO pop. If you are going to drink soda, go with diet and caffeine free...

Well we are made up mostly of water believe it or not. So you can drink all those drinks and yes it may keep your fluid intake up but water is the best thing for our system to purify itself. And by the way the more clear yellow your pee is the better, so I would say that if you have a lemon color you should try drinking some water!

You should be taking in about 64 ounces of liquid per day. It doesn't all have to be water. And technically, it doesn't all have to be drinks. People forget that there's water in alot of the food we eat too! Your urine should be clear or very light colored. Yellow pee means that you are dehydrated and should be drinking more.

No, your urine should not be yellow. The yellower it is, the more dehydrated you are. The more clear it is, the more hydrated you are.
