I've a friend who says she "doesn't drink to get drunk." When I asked ecaxtly how much it took her to get drunk, she gave a wishy washy asnwer. I understand that these would be averages, but i would like to give her a clear goal to start out with which she can tweak on her own. If she's willing to. Please note that I am not looking for a chart about BAC levels unless it specefies the point at which people begin to near drunkenness.

So: I need a chart which specefies at which poitn someone is approaching "drunkeness" and how many drinks/how much alcohol this takes, roughly.

Thanks!!!

There isn't anything that can really help you much with this, since, quite literally, everyone is different.

How alcohol affects you depends on your genes, your imbibing, your weight, and your gender. Literally, some nationalities handle their liquor better, a heavy drinker has a higher tollerance for alcohol than someone who doesn't drink much, someone with more body mass can drink more before feeling the same level of intoxication, and finally, women are hit harder, faster by the same amount of alcohol.

Put a 40pounder in front of me and I agree to drink it (I wouldn't, but this is hypothetical), and I would be unconcious, and likely in life threatening condition due to alcohol poisoning... I don't drink.
Put that same 40pounder in front of the average University student (especially a partier), and you'll simply have a falling-down drunk!
I know of a woman about 20 years ago that when tested, had a BAC of under 0.04...less than half the legal limit, and she was catatonic behind the wheel of her car...much to the suprise of the police officer that walked out of City Hall and out onto Main Street to find-out why the car was crawling along at under 5kph.

An additional variable is what you are drinking, and whether you mix your drinks.

One final note...for an average woman, a single margarita at a party or a restaurant will put her OVER the legal limit, since that single margarita generally holds 2-3 or more servings of alcohol...just ask Missy Gold. ;)

If you want, though go to the MADD website and they *may* have the information you're looking for.

I got this info from the DMV..
One 12-ounce can of beer or a 5-ounce glass of wine contains the same alchol content as a mixed drinkwith 1-1/2 ounce shot of liqour.
The average person is affected at .05 percent.
Only time gets alchol out of your body, and that is done through a normal body process.

Well I don't know about a chart but I don't drink very often
and I'm only 5' 2" and it only takes about 1/2 a can of
beer to get me tipsy. but it also depends on if people
have eaten before drinking and if they drink regularly its
going take more for them to get drunk.
