Beagles are loving and have distintive bark. They are good pets and they are also HOUNDS! They are known hunters sometimes.

I have two beagles and they are the most friendly dogs on this planet. When they are puppies they are a little hyper and the ones I got loved to chew on things and play 24/7. They do also like to jump on people . All Beagle owners should have chew toys and a lot of them! My dogs are turning 2 in July and they are still friendly and have never bitten anybody, they just like to jump. Most beagles are like this when they're young, but then again some may not be. Once they are older they tend to be "couch potatoes" and love to have all your attention(well most do anyway). I've had Beagles my entire life and the oldest one I've had lived for 8 years. Let me warn you, Beagles may sometimes be very destructive(chewing things up, DIGGING HOLES,etc) and have the possibility of getting seizures...etc. So overall I think Beagles would be a good choice of dog if you're willing to give them a lot of love and attention and try to overlook their bad habits( being destructive) and some health issues( seizures, not having as long of a life span). I would recommend them!

Loyal friends, good with kids, great rabbit hunting dogs. Compact, dont take up too much space, and they have cute floppy ears.

Because they are hounds, they will howl, and they can be runners. when they get a scent they tend to want to follow as far as they can.
