Take eharmony for instance. They charge $60 a month!! for what??? match.com charges $35 just to read emails. how do they get away with charging these fees? Why not charge $10 or so a month for the emailing. Finding love online is such a long shot. The free sites sites suck too. Just want to know if i am the only one thinking this is a rip off?

They get away with charging big fees because people are willing to pay the $$$$. Going through the info that they receive from their clients and making the matches does take some time, and time is money to them. Of course they are making a huge profit . . . that's the American way.

Of COURSE it is a rip of, but like was said they need money to power the site, and so many people now adays are looking for their "true love" and don't mind dishing out tons of money for a possible chance at love.
I think its definatly a long shot which is why i would never EVER use a dating site. =P

they charge to cover their costs of PROVIDING THE SERVICE. You should feel free NOT TO USE THEM if you feel it is too much money. You can always find a mate the "old fashioned way" that was used for thousands of years before there was an Internet.

yes i do black people meet,com charges under 10 a month just think you give them money and you dont get anything

i dont like them either but i would say this it allows you to meet or see so many girls that you would never ever meet
think of the girls you see when you go out maybe there are girls that you never see cuz they dont go out or go to diff bars clubs than you
dating is easier today than ever before but i do think they charge way to much

well they need to make money and keep the buisness going somehow...if you dont approve dont use them.
