The only way to prevent a cold is by boosting you immune system. There is no cure for the cold as well as no prevention aside from your body's defense. You can get some immune system boosting vitamins from any vitamin store.

Get lots of sleep so your body can focus on fighting the virus. Take vitamin c and zinc lozenges and drink lots of fluids. There is a product called Zycam at the drugstore, it tastes horrible and you have to put it in your nose, but it is soooo great at stopping a cold in it's tracts if you take it according to the directions. Follow the dosing instructions, there IS such thing as too many vitamins.

Zinc and Vitiman C are the best things to take if you feel a cold is coming. I'm not too sure what they do...but it can prevent the cold from coming or lessen then symptoms if you do catch one.

Hello...the cold is very unpleasant... :) but you can stop it in the begining... hot drinks (hot milk with honey, tea with lemon). Additionally (if you feel "wet nose" :) ) you can wash your's nose (inside) by salted water.... and you must sleep.... the rest it is the best way for changing your's cold feeling...

My sister swears by oil of oregano. It'll wipe out everything in your digestive tract (where most of the immune system is) and take the cold with it. Afterward, you have to reseed your digestive tract--activia yogurt.
