Murtha said "they [the Marines] killed innocent people. There’s no question in my mind about what happened here. There was no gunfire. They killed four people in a taxi and then in addition to that, they went into the rooms and killed them." Now the facts are out, and it turns out that the Marines did nothing wrong. Should Murtha apologize for accusing them of murder ?

How about the Marines apologize to the rest of the services for ever claiming that cheese-eating surrender monkey coward among their numbers.

What a freaking embarrassment to the military...

Colonel Murtha won't apologize for defaming his fellow Marines. And that is the real pity in this whole affair.

Not going to have much success with that. He never apologized for his part in AbScam.

Hey, Murtha, want $52K?

Not now.

I not only think he should apologize but resign his office. Is this the kind of person we want in government to pronounce judgment before all the facts are in just to satisfy his ideology?

Yes. He should. Especially since he only said it for political reasons, not because he actually even believed it was the truth. Shame on him!

"Did nothing wrong" is a stretch -- two people are still facing court martial. Personally I don't see how shooting unarmed people including women and young children equates to no wrongdoing.
