I've never had a bad experience making purchases online with any company.

I have made a few purchases from ***** using both major credit cards and a visa gift card.
The only time I ever had a problem with them was with the golf clubs I ordered. They were supposed to be in stock but ended up being back ordered.
***** was extremely nice and apologetic about it and even threw in a small package of golf balls for making me wait. And the wait wasn't much more than a couple days longer than it was supposed to take.

As with any sensitive and secure transaction that you do online, make sure it is a secured site and has the s in the address - https

Dick's Sporting Goods is a respected online store that assures the security of your order by adhering to the encryption standard called Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

When you go to checkout on the Dick's site, you will notice that the http at the beginning of the address your browser's address bar changes to https - this means that your credit card number and other personal information is being transmitted over a secure connection. Dick's also has a "Secure Shopping Guarantee" that limits your liability if unauthorized purchases are made with your credit card.

Dick's offers a second checkout option called Google Checkout. Google Checkout also uses SSL encryption for your credit card number, and they have a fraud protection policy that covers you against unauthorized purchases made with your account.

Both options are very safe. Please assure your father that his credit card number will be in good hands.

Yes it will work just fine. Those sites are secure and as long as you have protection on your computer (Antivirus, etc.) then you have nothing to worry about. It's understandable to be skeptical though. Are you too far away to just go the store?

If there's a reason it has to be bought offline, you could get yourself one of those Visa giftcards or greendot cards (they sell them at Wal-Mart) and you can shop online with that.
