I personally get so tired of people just copy and pasting verses from the Bible as an answer. Can you not think for yourself? Or, is that forbidden to you by your religion? I also have a problem with anyone who only ever copy and pastes. Be they atheist, Muslim, Taoist... et cetera.

I should have specified. When it is a question with an exact scripture answer in mind i have no problem with it.

It is not forbidden to think for yourself, however once you realize that opinions, even one's own, is fallen and unsubstantial, one realizes that one''s mind must be renewed by the Word of God.
Proverbs 14:12 (MKJV):
"There is a way which seems right to a man, but the end of it is the ways of death."
Eph 5: MKJV
25 ... as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,
Rom 12: NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

YES!!! When a question specifically asks for such verses, then fine. But I'm so tired of getting copy-&-paste bible verses as opposed to real answers to my questions (or anyone's questions). I would much rather hear what someone has to say in their own words that a bunch of bible verses.

I think when they are trying to prove their point because it is a question asking about certain beliefs then it is perfectly legit.
But when people paste scriptures which have nothing whatsoever to do with the question being asked then yeah it is annoying.

Not Bible Scripture, but I hate it when some people on this forum use the same exact answer for any question you ask.

Jesus himself quoted Scripture often and never taught things "from his own originality". But of course, he gave his own explanations and illustrations.
But that being said, I don't like to see people quote scripture without explaining how it applies to the question or explaining it in more detail.

If they thought for themselves, they'd have to admit all that copying and pasting is a complete waste of time. I never read through all that stuff - I've got the book anyway, so there's nothing there I haven't read before.

You are on the wrong site is you don't want to read scripture...It is what we base our lives on...it is the focus of our lives....if we don't put a scripture,,,how will you know why we believe what we believe..I do give my opinion,,when there is no scripture to back up my belief, but I prefer having a scripture. You never reference anything? Hmm..I'll have to go look at some of your answers,,unless you are one of those who hide their answers,,which I don't understand at all...

When someone cites any other source would you call that not thinking for themselves? If people are in agreement with something already eloquently stated by someone else, I have no problem

I've been on this rant train for a while, but the least the copy-paste zombies can do is spell check their rants. There's one copy-paste rant with the word "Immposibility", and it's probably been pasted fifty times.

I get tired of people asking this jaded question. In case you haven't noticed, this is R&S, so, presumably, when you ask a question of a religious nature, whomever you're asking will (big surprise) answer from their religions holy book. What else would they refer to; their driver's manual? Where do you take your car to get it fixed - the local bakery?
