My 43 year old older sister has all the old family home movies from the 1970s in her attic- I have a family of my own, and want copies- I could easily burn copies on dvd, for my family, her family and other relatives.....
I have been asking her for access to the films for 10 years- she keeps saying 'someday' she'll do something with the films- this is really starting to enrage me- my sister and i have never been really close- but those reels have footage of me with my late parents, i want copies for myself and my kids- The films clearly are not important to my sister- yet she refuses to send them to me, and refuses to lend them to me to copy...WHAT should i do?

maybe she already disposed of them, but she wants to keep it a secret from you. I always find that if someone i know has lost something of mine, and i ask for it, they will usually make up excuses and keep trying to put it off, until eventually they crack and come out with the truth.

offer to come get them, burn them at her house and perhaps she will feel she will not lose them.(if this is possible)
ask her to do it?
since you arent that close get a mutual relative to come and ask her on your behalf to get them and take them back.
Maybe its time to talk to your sister and put aside your differences and perhaps that will make it easier (could it be that she doesn't deal with death as easily as you do? may be hard for her to look at the films) good luck with your quest
