I was out at the grocery store and the bank the day before. I realized when I got home however that there was a scratch no dent but scratch as if another car tapped my bumper. It is not seriously damaged at all. How do I find witnesses? Should I even bother taking action? And if so what would happen how would I find the person that did it?

If the damage is just a scratch to the bumper - then your looking at around 250.00 or less to paint the bumper cover (depending on the scratch being bad enough to require painting the bumper).

You can file a police report and call your insurance company. In some states hit and run can be uninsured motorist (but not all). If you have collision coverage it could be handled under that. But either way it is subject to your deductible.

You probably wouldn't find the person who did it, nor would it be worth it. If you called the cops, they would probably laugh about it. Basically, go get some scratch remover or touch up paint and fix the scratch, and call it a day. Next time, park your car further out in the lot, hopefully you won't have many people parking around you to hit your car.

It's just a minor scratch. Forget about it and buff it out.
