All the animals and humans, even babies, died except those on Noah's ark when God, supposedly flooded the earth.

Don't you think he overreacted just a little? What did the babies do that was wrong?

Is this a deity worth worshiping?

Please don't give me the "hybrids" nonsense.

God thinks abortion is acceptable.

Big difference between inside and out of the womb.

Is that too hard to comprehend?

At least according to the bible god approves of abortion.

Because the God of the Old Testament was an egotistical megalomaniac who threw toddler-like tantrums whenever he was slighted by his imperfect creations. I mean, seriously. He's supposed to be omniscient and omnipotent, so when he created humans, he knew everything that they were going to do, including the Fall of Adam and every bit of "wickedness" since then. So he basically created us to fail, and then stomped his feet and threw a tantrum when we did exactly what he knew we were going to do.

If that god exists, he's either a spoiled two year-old who can't accept it when he doesn't get his way, or he's a sadist.

Wickedness was extremely bad in Noah's day. Noah preached the coming destruction for some 60 years before the flood came. No-one except he and his family listened to God and got on the ark. Children grow up to be like their parents and the wickedness would have kept on getting worse and worse. This is just like our time, Jehovah's Witnesses keep trying to reach people with the news of this system of things end which is coming soon, but just as in Noah's day, people aren't really listening but a few, you can't blame that on God, he always gives warning through his people. Well! what do you know, a nonbeliever that will be swept away. NOT SURPRISED

The amazing thing is that the skeptics and scoffers and mockers ask "Why doesn't God do anything about all the wickedness in this world? Is this a diety worth worshipping?"

But when there are examples in which He actually DID do something about the extreme wickedness in the world, people criticize even THAT!

It seems to ME that people who don't believe in God CHOOSE to not believe in God because they don't WANT to believe in God, and find any excuse they can to reject God!

Now, think about this - if all the adults were so extremely wicked that He had no other choice than to kill every adult to clean up the earth, what's YOUR recommendation for the babies?

Of course, I challenge YOU to tell me where you get off criticizing God like that. I mean, have YOU ever sat on the edge of eternity and viewed the universe like a globe in the palm of your hand while being able to pay attention to every minute detail within? Do YOU transcend space and time that you can make eternal judgements? Have YOU ever created a universe from nothing?

You truly ARE quite the arrogant one to judge the eternal God from your incredibly infinitesimal perspective! That's like a neutrino that exists for a fraction of a second in an atom in your left shoulder suggesting that YOU are cruel for doing whatever YOU may be doing!

Sorry, but you are weighed in the balance and found wanting!

Come back when you've lived a few billion years and visited a few billion galaxies! Maybe then you might have a SLIGHTLY better (but not much) perspective on things!

Heyya Gorgeous

You know that I'm Christian. And honestly in answer to your questions, I don't know. Its NOT defendable.

But if I DID know, I wouldn't be here.

In the taking of Canaan, Joshua was commanded by God to take every life at Jericho. Man, woman, and child. I don't get that, either.

And I'll be honest, too, and say, (and here come all the thumbs down), I'm not so sure that IS the God I worship. The God and Christ I know today would NEVER condone something like that.

So, there's a lot I don't get. But I still choose to believe.

peace, regards, and respects to you

This question is laced with reasons for not giving God recognition. You have a battle within yourself. You dig for excuses like some of those that answered supporting your logic. Don't fight it. Grow up. If God is not for you, don't try to erase him, just walk away. Leave God alone for those that believe in him. You're like a kid making excuses why her homework wasn't done.
And speaking of murdering babies, what is your postion on abortion?

to answer your question, I would have to believe that the flood ACTUALLY happened and would have to believe the bible should be taken literally... I have no problem believing in God...but then again, I don't believe the bible is anything more than a bunch of allegories designed to teach lessons that we've long forgotten...

And you think abortion is ok.
hmmm.

Get A Grip

I have yet to see the scripture that says abortion is ok.
People make that up to suit their own psychological profile.

Well now we know what he's capable of if we continue to do what he constantly asks us "not" to do. Obviously telling us to just believe and follow my path and be good to each other doesn't work. You can call it over reacting, I call it disciplinary actions that work. Don't blame God, for what man failed to do.

Once again we see nothing but contradiction in their logic.

...and Fireball didn't read the whole Q!

Why would any self respecting adult defend such non-sense?
