if it tingles then it is probably a cold sore or as it is more widely known Herpes. It can be carried in the blood and never come out until one day out of the blue. Also it can be contracted from someone else that has one by kissing. I also recently found out that they can spread from the genitals to the lip from direct contact-or even indirect contact. Do not pick it or mess with it. It will only irritate it and make it worse. There is an slightly expensive product called Abreva and others as well, but if you mega dose a vitamin called L-lysine it will nip it in the bud. L-lysine is said to be for the health of mouths and lips. Hope this helps. btw I am told you can get one when you get stressed or a cold that gives you a fever. Good luck.:-)

Actually, pimples can be on your lips. When that happens, it really is painful because of the nerves surrounding your mouth. Get rid of it as you would any pimple. I would advise cleaning it, then applying a good pimple ointment. It will go away, but it may take about a week. I hate when pimples pop up in an awkward spot!

Yes the ones near or on the lips are killer, I got one near my lip and put a dab of toothpaste on it when I went to bed and the next morning it was almost gone, the pain was gone. Seriously toothpaste work on pimples. Give it a try and you will know I am not kidding.

It's probably not a pimple. It's more likely herpes. See your doctor to be sure.

Clean the area and apply a triple antibiotic ointment, before bedtime. If it doesn't look better (or gets worse) in a day or two, call your doctor!
