Yes, I'm afraid Love, Peace, & Joy (the Gospel of Good news) doesn't SELL very well, so fear has been used by too many inorder to scare God's people into bringing their money to church. I wish this weren't true, but I'm afraid it is true.

I don't think so. However demons are real. Recently at my church we had a demon try and take up residence there. We do a prayer vigil on friday nights and I am normally there early in the morning, 1-2 a.m. I could feel the presence of this demon in the back corner of the sanctuary. I said nothing to anyone. The ladies group had their meeting the following Monday. One of them had been praying in the sanctuary and felt it too. The women came in and prayed and sent it running. My mom came home and told me they had cast a demon out of the church. I said the one in the corner by the nursery? It was the exact place they had prayed. If you can explain it any way other than a demonic presence that was felt by many of us even when we had not talked I would like to hear your explanation.

No, I think it is just the opposite. I think that people who go to church and believe strongly in their faith have less phobias and superstitions. They tend to put their trust in God instead.
Although they do believe that satan is present and trying to spread evil in the world, they know that they can be saved by faith in God.
The people with phobias and fear of demons are those who are not religious, but have just a small amount of knowledge, know they are not doing as they should, and are afraid of being taken over by satan.

Greater is He who liveth in thee than is he who is in the world...
I believe God is greater than Satan. I believe Satan has more boundaries now than before the Resurrection, though I believe he still has influence. I don't believe people can be possessed - at least, against their will - anymore. I also believe that the influence of the Holy Spirit is greater than the influence of Satan to those who are looking to be guided by the Holy Spirit.
So, no. No demon phobias.

Good question Sara! I think that to much emphasis is put on the devil and demons instead of the blood of Jesus. While the devil is our enemy he is NOT all powerful. And often it seems some of us are fascinated with the spirit realm. Jesus didn't go looking for the Devil but he dealt with him when he showed up.

It all depends on the religion.
There should not be any for those raised in Bible believing Christian churches.
And let me be clear that not all churches which claim to believe and follow the Bible really do.

Yes, some do.. Some churches neglect to share the fact that we have powers against them if we know who we are in Christ..
