It is probably how you project yourself. I worked with a young man who always was being ripped off. We worked on how he walked, with his head up and like there was a purpose to what he was doing. I had him think about being tougher and had him practice. It worked. So, if you think of it as acting, so be it. Also question people about things and if it doesn't sound right, walk away. You don't have to make a decision then. Say you need to think about it. Don't be pressured.

Maybe you should set up a support system. Let friends (and by friends I mean safe and appropriate others) know that you have this problem and ask them to be willing to set up a sort of checks and balances for when you are going to make a purchase. You could actually hire an accountant if you aren't comfortable having your friends help you. At any rate, you're just going to need to find someone to be a stop gap for you. When you want to buy something you first discuss it with someone else and decide not to make any purchases without thinking it over for 24 hours.

Well your just a little too nice. Part of life is having to step on peoples toes every once and a while. the trick is to have enough confidence to not care if people think you are mean when you dont give them what they want, and also to project this confidence in a way that people will see it and not try to walk all over you.

When I get any service done...I call friends who have had the service done...Get referrals as well as do my home work online with friends..anything from car mechanics to getting a hair do....Do your home work first..Ask your friends how much the service normally costs...Then when you call to request the service you will KNOW as much about it as the people you are hiring to do the job....Hope this helps....Good luck....
