cooked bones splinter. Never feed cooked bones. Rawhides are also bad for dogs.
Raw bones do not splinter, however.. be careful of the size. If the bone is small enough that the dog may try to swallow it whole, it poses a chocking hazard. I wouldnt offer a great dane a chicken leg or wing for example.. offer a larger peice to encourage chewing.
Large weight bearing bones are ok.. but they need to be meaty! Its the act of ripping and tearing meat that cleans the teeth. Once the meat is stripped, discard the bone. The large weight bearing bones can break teeth.

Those who feed raw diets explain that chicken bones, when fed RAW only, are safe. Cooked chicken bones are definitely bad for dogs as they will splinter and may perforate the esophagus, stomach or intestines. I have fed raw chicken bones without a problem, but I am sure that my vet might say that I was just lucky.

The best bones for a dog are NO BONES! If you want to give the dog a bone to chew on, give it a bone made of natural ingredients , They can be bought at most pet stores. Just make sure they say "natural" on them....not the rawhide bones.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/chP70
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Any cooked bones will hurt dogs. But specifically chicken and pork bones are bad. They will cut up dogs intestines and it is painful and can kill them

Avoid bones that aren't "Made In The USA", other countries will preserve the bones with ingredients that are harmful to dogs. Never give raw bones to your dog..Some butcher shops have bones that have been cooked that are safe. Raw bones can make your dog very sick.

Bones cooked or not are bad for pets.
Even large beef bones are notorious for fracturing even the largest dog's teeth.
Giving your big dog a big bone to gnaw on may look macho but it is really bad for them.

I know that you never give your dog any cooked bones.Raw bones are alright. For my dog I just give her pigs ear or dental bones you get from the supermarket. To be on the safe side you could just give your dog a toy plastic bone to chew on.

Any bones from poultry, chicken, turkey, duck, or goose..These bones are considered as 'soft' and will splinter apart, getting stuck in the dogs throat...
