the practice in America, so maybe American women admire that type of woman. It is clearly not a sanitary necessity, since men don't shave(and women wash there even if they shave).
Isn't it weird that only in the U.S. do women shave off their sexiest feature?

i think it has a lot to do with the media...the media likes to portray beauty as youth and young humans do not have much hair on their bodies, so adults start mimicking that in hopes of attracting guys

Not only in the US my friend. I am British and I have never seen a woman who didn't shave. Strict muslim women shave everything.
And I doubt that American women admire prostitutes. If the people on Yahoo Answers are anything to go by, I would say that American women are more conservative than most European when it comes to sex. Although I have never been to the US so I don't know for certain if this applies to the whole country.
Maybe the reason why prostitutes started it (if they did), is that most men (apparently not you though) find shaved armpits to be sexier. If so, then most women would wish to do it. Nothing to do with "admiring prostitutes".

It is not just in America where women are big with hair removal. In many cultures, ALL body hair is removed. It is thought by some to be a matter of hygiene and by others a show of status. For me, it's personal preference. I'll shave (or not) only because I want to. Over the years I've gone back and forth on the issue. To me, hair isn't a big deal. It's only natural.

Ya, it is kinda weird. but people in some parts of Europe don't shave at all. i think that women should shave since then your armpits will get all gross and hairy, which is not sanitary, in my opinion.
