I was out at the grocery store and the bank the day before. I realized when I got home however that there was a scratch no dent but scratch as if another car tapped my bumper. It is not seriously damaged at all. Should I even bother taking action? And if so what would happen how would I find the person that did it? Is it worth the time and energy and the insurance increase?

How would I know if there were witnesses? I didnt notice it until I had already gotten home?

I wouldn't do anything. How are you going to find out who did it. If is is just a scratch why bother, now if is was a huge dent that would be different, but just a scratch not worth your time.

Well unless you have a witness or saw the car that scratched yours it would be hard to track them down. Now as for filing a claim it depends on what your deductible is and how much the damage is. If there is no dent and just a scratch it might not be too expensive so it might not surpass your deductible.

At the grocery store it's most likely from some one letting a cart roll into it. No one seems to care where they park them or whether or not they ram someones car with them. I se them all the time sitting against someones car after the previous user left it rather than putting it away.

If it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it. Especially if it would cause your insurance to go up! Also, if you don't know who did it, I wouldn't bother with it.

if the scratch dont bother you, i wouldnt bother. but if you want it fixed, go for it.
