It certainly does sound like TMJ. The best person to make this diagnosis is your Dentist. You may also have a problem with grinding your teeth without realizing it.

I had daily headaches and pain in my jaw, my dentist was the one who told me I had TMJ.

Take some Advil or Motrin. Apply cold compresses to the area. Call your dentist to make an appointment. If you grind your teeth, the dentist can make a night guard which will help the pain a lot.

Good Luck

HELLO FRED,
YES, SADLY YOU HAVE TMJ AND ALL THE ASSOCIATED SYMPTOMS.
ALL IS NOT LOST BECAUSE THERE IS A SPECIAL BRUXISM APPLIANCE YOU WEAR AT NIGHT. THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU AS HAS ALSO FOR MY PATIENTS. THIS IS NOT A MOUTH GUARD AT ALL, THESE ARE USELESS.
