The idle air control valve may need to be cleaned if there is no Check Engine Light on.

The engine is idling ONLY when you're stopped. When the car is moving the engine is at what ever RPM is required for the speed you're at. The idle is normally in the 500 to 700 RPM range depending on what the manufacturer has decided is optimal for that model. Check your operators manual or call your dealers servic dpartment to determine what is normal for yours.

They have a feature called "neutral engagement" that puts the trannsmission into neutral whenh stopped with the brake applied, If you get a sudden jerk when you release the brake and before you accelerate then I would bring it to the dealer for a TCM " TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE" upgrade'. It's about a hundred bucks, $22.00to $33.00 for the software and .6 tenths labor or $60.00 {At $100.00 an hour}!!!
