Why is wrong to ask "What do you think about the portuguese language"?

I've done this question earlier and it was deleted... I want to understand this, so I won't repeat this mistake again.

I've placed the question here, in languages, not in any other place...

I don't see anything wrong in your question. And what I think about the Portuguese language is that is very similar to the Spanish due both are Romantic languages.

Even in a wrong category this question shows no reason to be deleted.

It sounds as if, because of the way you worded the question, someone thought you would attract politically incorrect answers.There was nothing wrong in the actual question.
Perhaps you could have written something additional like "Is easy or difficult to learn/understand?"
In view of the fact that all the rest of your answers are in Portuguese, it seems absurd to have deleted your post as it is obvious you were asking an innocent question, and not a critical one.

The person who deleted the question might be a Latin American Spanish speaker? In Latin America, there's only one large country that's non-Spanish speaking: Brazil. Maybe they felt threatened by it? but Portugal is actually on the same piece of land as Spain? !

Or maybe the words "think about" makes it seem like it belongs to Polls & Surveys instead of Languages?

I have no clue. It sounds like a ligitimate question to me. Maybe you placed the question in the wrong area. It should be in Languages.

Maybe when you were submitting it, it may have posted the same thing many times and they thought you were a spammer and deleted it all completey.
