It depends on the amount of cash your willing to drop, and what you needs are. What I mean by that is if your area has a lot of snow, or you want to get a flashy car for appearances...
My recomendations:
Performance/appearances: Ferrari/Lamborghini/Pagani
Power: Dodge Ram
Muscle: Mustang (especially one that was custom built to be extra powerful)
Fuel Economy: Smart Car
Family Vehicle: Dodge Caravan
Price: Anything thats used
Reliability: Honda, Toyota, Nissan
Business Car: BMW/Lexus/Mercedez-Benz

I believe the best car to get is a toyota corola. When I got my first toyota used (8 years old) it last me 7 more years before I ever had to do any major work on it and I sold it for a good price in return.

Stick with the top 3 car manufactures. Honda, Toyota and Nissan, preferably Toyota. Their cars last forever

it depends on your needs.
1st identify your needs. do you need a suv, coupe, sedan, truck, wagon, or luxury car.
2nd do you want new or used.
3rd how much money can you spend on it.
4th what brand is better suited for your needs? do you want a reliable engine (honda)? do you want the parts to be cheap when you need to repair it (chevy)? do you want to push the car half of the time (hyundai)?
5th do some research. then make a list of cars you could buy with the guidelines you set.
6th go search for it

It depends on what you value most. If it's reliability, then any Japanese car would do, and if it's safety, then I would stick with German cars (preferably Audi). Having four wheel drive can help prevent accidents. SUVs aren't that safe.

Whats your budget baby?
If you have money go for Rolls royce...
I prefer not to choose an american car... which is just looks to be honest...European and japanese are pretty good and worth the price..
You should give some more details which could narrow down your choices as to what sizes, money ,seaters, engine and so on...
