Of course, as long as you aren't biologically related, there is no harm.
Religion is a belief, therefor your relationship as God brother and sister is a belief, so who is anyone else to tell you, that you shouldn't believe you can have a relationship other than that?

As long as he is not really family. Not related to you at all. Just be sure of that. Other than that it is fine.
